Store Optimization & Commercial Performance
Business Challenge
With it’s extensive store network, Nike outlet stores operating across EMEA, maintaining commercial performance required continuous optimization of retail environments. Seasonal product changes, evolving consumer demand and inventory fluctuations meant that store layouts, category allocation and merchandise presentation needed to be regularly reviewed to maximize sales productivity while maintaining a consistent brand experience.
The challenge was to create a scalable optimization process that balanced commercial objectives with operational efficiency across multiple countries and diverse retail formats.
My Leadership Role
As Head of Retail Brand & Expansion for Central Europe and Scandinavia, I led the regional Store Optimization program, driving the seasonal review and optimization of Nike Factory Stores across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Poland and the Nordic region.
Working closely with Buying, Allocation, Merchandising, Retail Operations and Regional Directors, I translated commercial priorities into actionable retail solutions that enhanced both customer experience and business performance.
The optimization process extended beyond updating store layouts. It focused on improving category allocation, customer flow, fixture utilization and product presentation to ensure each store reflected seasonal priorities while supporting commercial objectives and operational excellence.
By combining retail analytics with market insights and cross-functional collaboration, I established a structured approach that enabled stores to adapt quickly to changing consumer behavior while maintaining consistency across the region.
